Helvellyn - the complete ridgeline

Explore the Helvellyn Ridgeline, this full day hike ticks Helvellyn & 6 further summits along the Helvellyn Ridgeline

We will start by ascending the stunning Grisedale Valley to Grisedale Tarn after a swift visit to The Brothers Parting Stone (where Wordsworth said good bye to his brother for the last time). Next is the stiff climb to reach the summit of Dollywaggon Pike, then an undulating trip with stunning views either side. Dramatic steep coves to the east and sweeping fells to the west, reaching the summit of Nethermost Pike.

Next - the penultimate peak... Helvellyn, taking in the sight of the famous aeroplane landing and views down into the sugarbowl (a skiers favourite descent!) and North towards the Northern Fells, Skiddaw and Blencathra and on an exceptionally clear day even the Solway Firth and the Scottish Coast!

Our return journey takes in Helvellyn Lower Man, Whiteside and potentially Raise, with a quick visit to The Lake District Ski Club ski tow which sits on the northern flanks of Raise! (weather andparticipant dependent) before descending via Sticks Pass or Keppel Cove to Greenside Mines and a stroll back to the village reflecting on our day.

No one knows the fells around Ullswater quite like Nic & her team. They are incredibly flexible, will tailor everything your requirements and will make sure you have the best time possible. Nic's pre-walk research always means she has a new fact (or ten) every time you go out, so not only is it a great walk, but you learn as you go too!

Nic was a fantastic guide in beautiful countryside. She showed us routes that were off the beaten track and kept us entertained throughout. Many thanks, loved it!
