St Sunday Crag
Visit The Brothers' Parting Stone by Grisedale Tarn on the ascent to St Sunday Crag. This is the spot where William Wordsworth saw his brother John for the last time. Read the poem, inscribed on a rock, to take you back in time...

Patterdale Parish Boundary Challenge Event
Fundraising for Patterdale CofE Primary School and Patterdale Church, Hiking Highs offers this amazing hiking challenge annually on the first Saturday in July. A tough route to complete the full boundary, a challenging first half at 16 miles, a less challenging 12-mile 2nd half, or our family Mini-beat 7 miles downhill. Or fly down the 7-miler running solo if you prefer!

Grisedale & Glenridding Valleys
Enjoy the hidden valleys to the west of Ullswater. Grisedale is where Wordsworth famously said his last goodbye to his brother John in 1800, and Glenridding is home to the Greenside Lead Mines where silver was discovered.

Langdale Valleys via Blea Tarn
A tour of both Great & Little Langdale valleys, passing Blea Tarn, which is tucked away at the foot of the infamous Wrynose Pass. The hike continues towards Little Langdale before meandering over Elterwater and returning up Great Langdale.

BUTTERMERE BLUEBELLS
The Lake District is an excellent place to see one of the nation’s favourite wild-flowers in all its colourful glory. Rannerdale in the Buttermere Valley could well be the best of all, hosting thousands of bluebells each May. It’s a magical sight whatever the weather… moody or bright, the carpets of blue are extraordinarily beautiful. Valley or mountain hike options.

RED DEER RUTTING
The famous autumn red deer rut close to Ullswater is a unique experience, as the bellowing of stags echoes around Martindale and Boredale. Join us with your binoculars to experience this truly magical connection to nature.
