Langdale Pikes – Harrison Stickle & Pike of Stickle
Harrison Stickle & Pike of Stickle, two mountains which adorn many views of the Lakes, are easily recognised by their iconic and distinctive shapes. They tower above the exquisite valley of Great Langdale.
This fabulous day out begins with an exploration of Mickleden valley, followed by a steep ascent of Stake Pass, before turning sharply south to reach Pike of Stickle and then onto Harrison Stickle.
The descent to Stickle Tarn is quite technical, but there's no rush down these steps. The tarn itself can be a rewarding place for a dip or a paddle during summer, before our return to the valley floor down a grassy route a little off the beaten track. (If the beck is impassable to cross due to excess water, then we return down the main stepped route.)
We can offer a half-day option up onto Harrison Stickle which towers above Stickle Tarn (10km, 450m ascent, 4hrs)
£175 first walker + £25 each additional walker up to 8 people. For 9 or more get in touch for a quote.
Half-day also available for £130 (add £20 for a solo hiker).
Nicola was really approachable – she listened and was very enthusiastic. The walks allowed us to put a lot into practice.
We have done several walks with Nic. She is very quick to see and adapt walks to people's abilities. Also very knowledgeable about the area and would recommend walks with the company.
