Wordworth way - launch - come join us on the first walk

Monday 7th April 2025

A Lake District First! LAUNCH DAY! ‘Wordsworth Way’ 5 miles or 16... you choose Part of the celebration there is to be an inaugural walk from the University of Cumbria, Ambleside - Patterdale Finding 15 heritage features along the route celebrating William and Dorothy Wordsworth’s story and Circle. Marmalade Festival Stand

Saturday 26th April 2025

We are heading off to Dalmain's Marmalade Fest. Hiking Highs are invited to promote Red Deer hikes in Dalemain Estate & Martindale Valley. Our stand will sit alongside Marmalade retailers including Fortnum & Mason. Who who'd have thought Nordic Walking, exploring the fells, the oldest red deer herd in England and Marmalade are connected!

Bluebells & Buttermere Fells 3 Day Break

6th - 8th May 2025

The Lake District is an excellent place to see one of the nation’s favourite wild flowers in all of its glory. Rannerdale in the Buttermere Valley could well be the very best of the best, hosting thousands of bluebells in May each year. It’s a magical sight whatever the weather… moody or bright, the carpets of blue are extraordinarily beautiful. Each day will offer a high and low level walk.

Lake District Running Festival

6th - 8th May 2025

Combining the Grasmere Gallop & the OMM Annual Festival... the Lake District Running Festival has been created! Wow, what a combination... and we will be there in full flow with our Leki Poles Stand, and delivering Talks and Workshops with poles. Come and join in the fun... bring your family. there even a Nordic Walking Class and kids race for the Grasmere Gallop! or Head to the hills and test your navigation in the OMM Lite.

As a 45 year old tradition in the Ullswater Valley, 'Beat The Bounds' of Patterdale Parish 27 miles - Full Boundary 15 miles - 1st Half 12 miles - 2nd Half 7 miles - downhill mini beat Don't be fooled by the distances - these are tough routes!
