Starting from Stickle Barn, Great Langdale, with the Langdale Pikes towering above us, we will head over to Blea Tarn, the path rises steeply out of Great Langdale, this being the only ascent during your adventure. Weaving around the tarn in the shadows of Pike of Blisco we will head towards Little Langdale Tarn before returning via Elterwater and the slate quarries, to explore the complete Great Langdale Valley for the last part of the day.

Take your navigation to the next level. Understanding the jump from course navigation to fine navigation, and the tools in order to do so whilst on and off trail on slightly technical terrain. Demonstrate good use of Bronze & Silver level navigational tools, and move to fine contour detail for navigating inhospitable ground, off the beaten track, in potentially tricky weather conditions. Navigation skills must be well practiced for moving in featureless terrain. We share the techniques discuss route choices, perfect practice for heading out with friends or partnering up on Mountain Marathons...
