The Honister Via Ferrata Xtreme sets itself apart from the classic version with additional exciting elements, such as overhang descents, a Burma Bridge, and a daring sky ladder to test your mettle.
Derived from the Italian term meaning ‘iron way,’ Via Ferrata comprises a network of iron cables, pins, and footholds, ensuring a secure passage across the formidable Honister crag.

We ensure you are safely kitted out with helmet and harness from Honister's own kit store, followed by a briefing and instruction for working your way along the via ferrata.

Top out onto the mountain - Fleetwith Pike - and head straight onto the fells...

HIKE:
Our Extreme Scafell Pike route, carefully calculated to give you the best thrill, but still achievable, for those familiar with the mountain terrain with a good fitness level, in 6-9 hours, including the Via Ferrata. This route includes up to 5-7 summits, the day depends on your group and the weather... approximately 17km with 1600m ascent.
OR...
Haystacks classic round from Honister, a carefully calculated route to give the best views to Buttermere, Ennerdale, and over to Great Gable, summit 2-5 peaks.
10-12km with 500-700m ascent
We can extend this route to 16km with 100m ascent along the ridgine high above Buttmere, to include High Crag and High Stile, finishing on Red Pike for a tough decent... the options are endless.
