Grasmere Fells & Easedale Tarn
Discover Easdale Tarn and explore the Far Easdale Valley and the meandering Far Easdale Gill, with mountains all around towering above you.
To begin, this hike leads you away fro the bustling Grasmere Village, up into the Easedale Valley, and an ascent past the magical Sour Milk Ghyll cascading waterfalls.
This ascent can be taken very steadily to enjoy the waterfall wonder, and give time for a few breaks. A few minutes later and the magic of Easedale Tarn adorns your view. A glorious tarn which welcomes wild swimmers.
We will take a tour of the tarn and return descending into the Far Easedale Valley, here you will join the famous Wainwrights Coast-to-Coast route to return to Glenthorne and take a little detour into Lancrigg Gardens and a visit to Dorothy Wordsworth Memorial.
This route is generally considered a half day hike. by adding in the fell above Easedale, Silver Howe, we can turn it into a full day.
Half day hike £90 for one walker + £20 each additional walker
Full day hike £130 for one walker + £30 each additional walker
We had such a lovely time with Louise leading and a lovely bunch of fellow walkers. So magical walking in the early morning with the full force of nature surrounding us
