Helvellyn via Striding Edge & Swirral Edge
The classic Helvellyn ascent via Swirral and Striding Edges. Englands 3rd highest mountain gives fabulous 360' panoramic views on a clear day.
Working our way up to the famous Red Tarn enjoying the splendour of the Red Tarn Bowl under the flanks of Helvellyn.
Our journey will take us along, up and over Stiding Edge to summit Helvellyn and descending via Swirral edge.
The charm of Helvellyn is the surprise views from the summit. This can be shrouded in cloud, but many days you can watch it rise and fall revealing extraordinary views over the Lake District mountains, before disappearing in secords, clouds can roll like waterfalls over Striding and Swirral Edges too, the surprise awaits you, and you can never tell until you reach the top!
On a clear day 360' views of the Lake District mountains can leave you speachless.
This route may change to begin with Swirral Edge according to weather & wind direction dependant, only one edge may be acheived, each day is different and your safety is paramount.
This walk is not for the faint hearted and we must stress the severity of the edges. Steep drops fall away both sides of the ridge. The ridges and classed as easy scrambles and this is more than just a walk - the ridge sections of this walk will be more 'hands on' rather than wandering along a path!
If our route changes our guides will still give an experience to remember.
£150 for one walker + £30 each additional walker

Great hike up Hellvelyn. Good guides - patient and helpful.
Bucket list item achieved - Striding edge is one of those famous things that everyone talks about but can be quite intimidating to the relative novice. Our guides were excellent in supporting our ambition!
A huge thank you for a spectacular day. We were brimming with happiness on the journey home.
You looked after us so well, with great encouragement and instruction and lots of lively conversation.
